Natalben Breastfeeding
Food supplement to meet the mother's nutritional requirements
During breastfeeding, the need for vitamins, minerals and trace elements increases so that the production of breast milk does not alter the mother’s nutritional status.
What is Natalben Lactancia?
Natalben Lactancia is a food supplement that helps meet women's nutritional requirements throughout breastfeeding.
Main components of Natalben Lactancia
- Folic acid (Vitamin B9): During breastfeeding, the quantity of folates can decrease as they pass from the mother into breast milk, which is the best source of folic acid for the infant. Folic acid contributes to normal psychological function. It also helps reduce fatigue and tiredness.
- Vitamin A: The mother's vitamin A concentration decreases as breastfeeding is goes on. Breast milk is the best source of vitamin A for the baby.
- Vitamin D: This contributes to the absorption and normal use of calcium. The concentration of vitamin D in breast milk depends on the mother's vitamin D levels.
- Iodine: A breastfeeding woman needs almost twice the amount of iodine as an adult to ensure that her child gets all the iodine required through her milk. Iodine contributes to normal cognitive function.
- Calcium: A mother's calcium needs increase significantly to maintain her bone deposits and meet her baby’s requirements. Calcium contributes to normal energy metabolism and is necessary for the maintenance of bones under normal conditions.
- Iron: This contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin. An adequate intake helps the mother to recover from childbirth and achieve the required levels during breastfeeding.
- Omega-3 fatty acids: These are necessary nutrients for the body and can only be ingested through diet. DHA contributes to the normal development of the brain and eyes of the breastfed baby. Breastfeeding women are informed that this beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 200 mg of DHA, in addition to the recommended daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids for adults, i.e., 250 mg of DHA and EPA.
